I’m Mavis — a design strategy enthusiastic and a happy workaholic. I have a cat... and a stiff neck.
Currently I’m an MFA Candidate at Media Design Practices, ArtCenter College of Design. Before that, I studied at Dalian University of Technology where I spent four years in the university's TV Station as a creative writer. I am always passionate about using creative design to bring strategy to life and creating emotional impact.
I love diving into the vernacular. I love the concepts of people, ideas, myths, taboos, connections, contexts... I apply the following lenses to my design practices: video, sound, game, photography, copywriting, programming, graphic design, interaction, communications, psychology, and sociology. I consider myself a forever student - not always a good student, though.
I have an interest and worked across mental wellness, non-profit, retail, and automotive. I am actively seeking intern opportunities in Creative Direction / Service Design / UX Design / Design Strategy for 2021 Summer.
Some of the books I’ve really enjoyed reading recently
How qualities of place shape social life
Daniel Silver, Terry Clark
